EFL Star

This is a fantastic site for basic video tutorials on parts of speech, grammar, and English mechanics.  Most of the lessons can also be accessed via YouTube.

Dave Sperling's ESL Cafe

Probably one of the oldest ESL/ELL web sites on the web. Dave Sperling has been building this resource for over a decade.  There are links here to grammar lessons, vocabulary builders, chat rooms, and a huge number of other resources.  This should be bookmarked on the PC of any ELL student who is taking college courses.

Capital Community College Writing and Grammar Page

Connecticut has a outstanding resource in state that is administered through Capital Community College.  This site contains grammar exercises and clear explanations of many terms used in the writing process.  It is another "must" for bookmarking.

Paradigm Online Writing Assistant

Another really solid web site for the writing process, common punctuation issues, and quite a bit more.  There are also blogs and discussion groups available filled with students who have similar concerns.

Online English Grammar

This web site hosts a complete English grammar reference.  If it exists in the English language, it can probably be found here.  Entries include everything from basic parts of speech to passives, infinitives, colloquialisms and more!  This site is truly a one-stop shop for serious grammar needs.  All topics are arranged alphabetically.

Codidact ESL/ELL Grammar and Vocabulary Exercises

This is a newer on-line platform that offers a host of exercises on grammar and vocabulary building.  Students can sign up for accounts free of charge.
